Reading Time: 2 minutes

At the Lister Fertility Clinic, we understand that every patient and their journey to parenthood is unique. . This approach allows us to offer personalised care. We are dedicated to spending time finding the right complex treatment plan on offer that suits individual needs.

The Lister Fertility Clinic is the UK’s largest private fertility unit and has just celebrated its 35th anniversary. Our doors opened in 1988, since then over 21,000 babies have been born from private fertility treatment with us. We have maintained consistently excellent success rates while empowering patients to make decisions in a supportive and friendly environment.

As of 2020, we are also incredibly proud to offer a bespoke surrogacy service, which is run by a team of specialist doctors, nurses, admin and embryologists. The service has grown rapidly over the past three years and we are pleased to say that we currently have four babies born via surrogacy and five ongoing pregnancies; one of which is for a male same-sex couple.

At the Lister Fertility Clinic, same-sex couples can undergo treatment with a known egg donor, or they can benefit from our egg donation programme, whereby they are able to obtain donated eggs from our egg bank abroad. There is a short waiting time for this, however, completion of the egg bank donation can be as quick as three months.

You will have your own consultant at the Lister Fertility Clinic, who personally plans and leads your care. You will then be well looked after by our amazing team of specialist surrogacy nurses who will also care for your surrogate when the time comes. The surrogacy team is led by four specialist nurses and two skilled administrators, who will be there to guide you through every part of your journey. The team is warm, friendly and will be there to support you every step of the way!

After an initial consultation to discuss plans, you will meet with one of our lovely counsellors. This will cover the implications associated with egg donation and surrogacy. This service can be accessed at any stage of your surrogacy journey. An appointment with the nurse will follow. At this stage, your nurse will answer any questions, and provide support and guidance on completion of your consent forms in order to start your screening process.

A great fertility clinic isn’t just one that can give you effective treatment; it’s one with excellent communication and compassionate staff who are able to offer tailored emotional support. Our priority is to ensure that your surrogacy journey is a memorable and positive experience from the start.

We welcome you to the Lister Fertility Clinic surrogacy service and we hope to share the exciting journey of you starting your family.
